CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

We look forward to the presentation of excellent research at the 17th joint Washington/Oregon Chapter meeting in Sunriver Resort.  Abstracts have been received and selections are in process. ABSTRACT DEADLINE  - CLOSED (on March 4)

ABSTRACT ORDER OF PRESENTATION

There are 3 sessions for podium presentations: Friday, June 10 8:00 am and 10 am and Saturday, June 11 at 8 am. each have 8 abstracts. Be sure to know WHEN you are presenting and get there plenty early. Our AV techs can upload your presentations in advance.

GUIDELINES FOR PRESENTATION

These are podium presentations. Presentation (slides) no more than 12 minutes. Discussion will be from the audience. We will have two people moderating the sessions. Bring your presentation on a thumb drive and give that to our AV techs in the back of the room.  They can load that up in advance. Be sure to be there in plenty of time. Check out the agenda so you know what's going on at the meeting. Also, all presenters are required to register. Click HERE.  Don't forget to arrange your accommodations in Sunriver. We have a block of rooms at the Sunriver Lodge. Call 1-800-547-3922 and mention the American College of Surgeons.  And, join the fun on Friday, June 10 in the afternoon. in our Resident Jeopardy competition. Team up and beat that buzzer!

Pre-recorded presenters:  A few abstracts will be on VIDEO. If this applies to you, we're sorry you can't be there in person! Here are the instructions:

Record your abstract presentation using ZOOMSave the file as an MP4 file.
Make sure it's about 12 minutes.
Q&A will be limited to those in the audience. We will not have virtual access for Q&A. If anyone on your team is at the meeting, make sure they are aware they could answer a question or two and when your abstract will be shown. Download the schedule.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION

Abstracts should be maximum of 250 words.
Try to keep the abstract title relatively brief. Do not use all caps.
List authors: Last, First, Credentials.
Edit abstract carefully and check for errors. They will be published as they are received.
All submitted abstracts should adhere to the following format:

1. Introduction
2. Methods
3. Results
4. Discussions/Conclusion

Abstracts accepted as online submission only. At least one author must be an active member of the Washington or Oregon Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. The corresponding author should be the person responsible for receiving all communication and coordinating with the presenter. Abstracts submitted to national meetings in the past year will be considered but should not have been published by the time of submission.
