Information for abstract presenters, speakers, and panelists

Virtual Meeting Format: The meeting is now a virtual format using an app called Whova.
Schedule: To see the schedule, Click HERE.
Meeting Registration: Presenters are required to register, Click HERE.
Whova App: Once registered, attendees will receive information on downloading the Whova app on their phone, laptop and tablet. VERY Important.
Viewing Abstracts: Pre-recorded abstract presentations will be accessible to attendees once they are uploaded to the Whova App. Questions can be posed via a chat feature to authors and presenters. A moderated Zoom Q and A session will be held on Friday Sept 25 by subject area: 2:00 pm - General Surgery 8 abstracts; 2:40 pm -Acute Care and Vascular Surgery, 9 abstracts; 3:00 pm - Oncology, 9 abstracts. Links will also be set up to take a quiz on the abstracts (one question per abstract) to earn self assessment credit.
Pre-recorded Abstracts Required: Presenters should record an 8 minute abstract presentation . Create a mp4 recording of you giving your presentation using Zoom so that we have a backup recording to post in the meeting app. Instructions:
a. Open your ppt/ Sign in to zoom/ Select setting button on the green shield/ Record video during screen sharing/ Select edit by 3rd party/ Place Video next to the shared screen in the recording/Set the timer on your phone for 8 minutes/ Hit record/ Save the file to your computer
b. The recorded file mp4 should be downloaded to the following Dropbox link, Click HERE. The due date for prerecorded abstract presentations is September 1.
Disclosures: Create your PowerPoint presentation remembering to include a disclosure slide as your second slide. Also, complete our online disclosure form, Click HERE (REQUIRED).

Panelists, Speakers for Live Sessions: For the most part live sessions in Zoom are on Saturday September 26. If you have a recorded presentation, follow the information above. Contact Heather Roderick if you have questions (see below).

Abstracts Submission Dates: Call for abstracts: Jan 1, 2020. Deadline to submit 3/1/20: Selections determined (Note: ACS CME guidelines require the meeting's CME app to be turned in 90 days out).
General Guidelines: Due to the combined nature of the meeting, there will undoubtedly be greater competition for abstract slots. In order to accommodate as many presentations as possible, the bipartisan Abstract Review Committee will review all submitted abstracts. Approximately 24-30 will be selected. The format is described on our online abstract submission form. Abstracts are limited to 250 words.
Self Assessment: Presenters should provide two multiple choice questions related to their abstract for self assessment. Give four possible answers and indicate which is the correct answer. Presenters should refer to the questions at the meeting. Note: Please do not use "ALL OF THE ABOVE" or "NONE OF THE ABOVE." You may submit 1 case-based question.
Disclosures: All presenters must make a disclosure statement at the start of the abstract presentation and complete an ACS disclosure form, available on the abstract online form.
