Join Your Local ACS Chapter We encourage all ACS Fellows to support our local activities by joining the Oregon Chapter. How to join, Click HERE Dues provide a lot of benefits such as social events, education, CME opportunities, and advocacy. Chapter Activities First, our Chapter joins with the Washington Chapter to produce a fantastic combined ACS Oregon-Washington Annual Meeting. Check out this page for the most recent or upcoming meeting. The Oregon ACS Council is the local governing body for the chapter. The council meets a couple times a year to share ideas, get reports on various committees and geographic areas and to plan the annual scientific meeting. Chapter dues cover the expenses of the council and annual meeting planning. The ACS Day at the Capitol is combined with a council meeting and with interviews of FACS Fellow candidates. This is usually held in February or March. The Portland Surgical Society (PSS), a long-standing institution in the Portland area, has merged its operations with our Chapter. We invite you to join PSS. If you live in the tri- county Portland area or Clark County, WA dues are $250. Dues for retired non-practicing surgeons are $125. Dues to PSS are pre-payment for four quarterly dinner meetings and one annual banquet with a scientific session and CME hours. Your Chapter dues help us to provide these great programs in Oregon, and we encourage all members to participate in the chapter in other ways. |
