Annual Conference - Virtual Meeting

The ACS Oregon and Washington Chapter’s Annual meeting in Sunriver Oregon (in June) was canceled due to the Covid-19 virus. The committee recently decided to hold the event as a virtual meeting.  

Highlights:

MEETING APP: All attendees will download the meeting app called Whova.  After registering, attendees will receive an email with instructions to go to your App Store on your phone, tablet etc and download the Whova App. Then find our meeting on their calendar.  Its that easy and very helpful!

REGISTRATION:

Registration fees will provide online access to the live portion of the meeting. Rates:

• Oregon and Washington ACS Chapter members: $50*
• Surgeons, non members: $100
• Residents, Surgical support staff: $25
• Residents: Free

*To get the Chapter member rate you must be current on ACS Chapter dues. If you have any questions about this contact the office at 503-371-7457.

PANELS AND SPEAKERS: will be held as webinars during the day on Saturday. Attendees can participate in the Q&A portion of the webinars. Details on the speakers and topics are in the works. Click HERE for the agenda. 

ABSTRACT PRESENTATIONS will be available for viewing the week of September 21-25. Presenters will upload an 8 minute pre-recorded presentation and a link will be provided to attendees. In all, 26 abstracts have been accepted in three categories.  On Friday, a moderated Q and A session will be held. Download a list of accepted abstracts Click HERE

Virtual Meeting Format:

Registrants will log in to web-based platform called Whova.  From the app store, or Whova website, download the Whova App for to your laptop, tablet or smart phone. Once the app is downloaded,  move around within the app to view abstract presentations (pre-recorded), visit virtual exhibitors, pose questions, attend chat rooms, and attend webinars. In the virtual solutions center exhibit hall,enter the "gamification" feature. They will earn points from by exhibitor's pages, watching videos and other interactions.
